Born Aahoo Jahansouzshahi to Spanish and Persian parents - her lineage on the latter side could be traced to a 19th-century shah - in Euless, TX on Jan. 10, 1980, Shahi was an overachiever at an early age, participating in sports and beauty pageants, training as an opera singer, and earning a brown belt in karate. In addition to her outside interests, she excelled at school, going on to graduate at the top of her class from Southern Methodist University. After winning the Miss Fort Worth competition in 1997, she tired of the pageant routine and considered becoming a country singer, of all things. While exploring that venue, Shahi joined up with the iconic Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders from 1999-2000, ending up as the first rookie to ever grace the cover of their calendar. During this time, she also appeared in layouts for Muscle and Fitness and Curve magazines, and toured the Balkans and Southern Europe as part of the U.S.O.While working as an extra on "Dr. T. and the Women" (2000), Shahi met director Robert Altman, who encouraged her to pursue acting. She relocated to Los Angeles and began working almost immediately in television and film. Shahi graduated quickly from bit parts, to recurring roles on series like "Alias" (ABC, 2001-06) and "Dawson's Creek" (The WB, 1999-2003). A turn in the 2003 theatrical comedy "Old School" also earned her numerous male fans, after she gave an impressive pantomime of oral sex. In 2005, Shahi joined the cast of "The L Word" as Carmen de la Pica Morales, a budding D.J. who plays roommates Shane McCutcheon (Katherine Moennig) and Jenny (Mia Kershner) off each other in an attempt to win Shane's affections. Eventually, she becomes involved with Shane, but the relationship ends up tumultuous, with much of the conflict over issues of fidelity. Their romance climaxes with Shane abandoning Carmen on the day of their wedding. Carmen's fiery temper and the intense psycho-sexual drama of her relationship with Shane helped make the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons among the series' most dramatic and watchable. Interestingly enough, Shahi was unsure if she wanted the role after she landed it, but soon came to consider it among her best work.Shahi had a small role in Christopher Guest's mockumentary "For Your Consideration" (2007), but her most noteworthy turn of that year came in the "Sopranos" episode titled "Kennedy and Heidi." In it, she played Sonya Aragon, a savvy Las Vegas-based woman paying her way through college by stripping, who also happens to be a friend of Tony's cousin and loyal crew member Christopher Moltisanti (Michael Imperioli). Tony arrives in Vegas to deliver the news of Christopher's death - which he caused - to Sonya, and becomes physically involved with her. The pair spends a hedonistic weekend together, capped off by the use of peyote, which appeared to have a profound affect on the guilt-ridden Mafia chieftain.

You probably know her as steaming hot L Word DJ Carmen who was left at the altar when Shane did a runner.Speaking with a deep, sexy voice, Sarah Shahi has DIVA's Bella Qvist sweating on the other side of the phone as she rings up to talk about lesbian sex scenes, strong women and what it is like to kiss Katherine Moennig.
Five years after leaving The L Word the 31-year-old plays Kate, a high-powered mediator in the funny American drama series, Fairly Legal. Her new role sees the Texas-born actor running around the streets of San Francisco in pencil skirts and high heels, dealing with clients in a comical Ally McBeal kind of way.There is one common factor that draws Sarah to her roles: she likes the idea of portraying strong yet troubled women.
"With [my character] Kate and with the last role that I did on a show called Life, they are both women who, even though they worked in very male dominated worlds, were struggling with a lot of their own demons and were pushed on what they should do."Kate is a straight character with men on her mind but Sarah admits she prefers getting down and dirty with women. On camera at least.

"When it's girl on girl it's actually a little bit more comfortable because as women we understand each others bodily issues," she says and stops as if to think back at a particular moment.
"If I needed to have Katherine Moennig cover a breast or cling on top of me in a way to hide something from the camera, there was no issue asking about it. With men it gets a little tricky because if they get excited, you know," she laughs, probably blushing a little.
And seeing as she's already mentioned her name, the following question is inevitable. What is it like kissing Katherine Moennig?
Sarah laughs; now she really is embarrassed.
"It's what men and women dream of," she says before changing her tone of voice, sounding as if she is quoting a love poem as she continues.
"She has lips as luscious as a peach and a golden ripe petal on a summer day, dripping with sweet nectar."
"You can actually describe it like that," she says, speaking in her normal voice again.
With such kisses, there is no wonder Shane broke hearts.
It seems Sarah needs a moment after that thought (who wouldn't?) and she takes her time before answering what she thinks about my next question: what did Carmen go on to do after she was left at the altar?
"For all I'm feeling she is probably still doing the same thing, still pining over Shane. I don't know if she will ever love the way she loved Shane and I think that there is a place in her mind that still hopes that Shane comes back."
Sarah admits she gets a very strong connection to the characters she plays. She puts herself into them and becomes intertwined with them to the extent where she thinks about them even when is not on set.
"I think Carmen had a sadness to her… she never really was able to come out under her family," she says at one point, sounding genuinely thoughtful.
The fact that people obsess about her old role doesn't bother her.
"[The L Word] was a cultural phenomenon, it made history and in a way I was able to be a part of that… I'm very proud that I was a part of that and that people still talk about it."
Indeed, despite Shahi marrying a man, people have often questioned her sexuality.
"I think for a while the girls were definitely convinced that I was gay," she laughs.
"But I'm pretty sure they've all got the message that I'm straight by now."
Sadly, yes.

Jamie Chung

In 2008, she starred in her first major role as well as the series lead in the ABC Family miniseries Samurai Girl which launched in September 2008.

She appeared in 2010 film Grown Ups and had a supporting role in the 2012 martial arts film The Man with the Iron Fists.

Chung gained her first major feature film role in the 2012 film Premium Rush, directed by David Koepp as well as starring as the lead in the 2012 independent film Eden, Chung plays a young Korean American girl abducted and coerced into prostitution by domestic American human traffickers. Chung currently portrays the recurring role of Mulan in the of the television series, Once Upon a Time.Her appearance on the series was panned by Bruce Fretts of TV Guide, who felt that she did not fit into the series' fantasy world.

In 2011, she provided the voice of Aimi Yoshida in the video game X-Men: Destiny.

Reality TV work

Chung was a cast member on The Real World: San Diego, the fourteenth season of MTV's long-running reality TV show, The Real World, which first aired in 2004. At the time she was selected to be on The Real World: San Diego, she was described by MTV as a hard-working student who worked two jobs to pay her tuition, but who also enjoyed partying. She was also described by her friends as not having the best taste in men.

Six months after Chung and her castmates left the Real World house, they appeared to discuss their experiences both during and since their time on the show on 2 Punk Rock 4 This: The Real World San Diego Reunion, which premiered on July 9, 2004.

After appearing on The Real World, Chung appeared on its spin-off game show, Real World/Road Rules Challenge, as a cast member in that show's 2005 season, during which she was a member of the "Good Guys" team, which squared off against the "Bad Asses". By the end of the season, after several cast members had been eliminated during the competition, Chung remained, along with her fellow Good Guys teammates Darrell Taylor, Landon Lueck, and Mike Mizanin. Brittany Alexis Palmer is the youngest of three girls, a fact which her older sisters never let her forget. She was born in Utah and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. She began performing as a dancer at the age of two. She then performed emotionally compelling roles such as a puppet and a butterfly. As a teen she performed in Radio City Music Hall’s “Super bowl XXX Halftime Show” starring Dianna Ross. At the age of sixteen she was named Miss Teen Glendale Arizona. Octagon girl, aspiring artist, and now Playboy model – is there anything Brittney Palmer isn’t capable of? She’s as talented as she is beautiful and has been entertaining MMA fans since her days as a WEC ring girl. She began her career in entertainment as a Magician’s Assistant and Dance Captain for the Ultimate Variety Show in 2006. From 2007-2010 she was an Ensemble Dancer for X Burlesque in Las Vegas at the Flamingo Hotel


Her big break came when she was hired in 2007 to work for the WEC and was moved over to the UFC when the two organizations merged. It wasn’t long afterwards that she discovered she had a legitimate talent for painting with one of her best portraits to date featuring none other than UFC President Dana White. Following in the footsteps of fellow Octagon girls Rachelle Leah and Arianny Celeste, Palmer recently showed off more of her “talents” in the March issue of Playboy magazine.


Life has been good thus far for the 24-year old beauty, but it hasn’t come without a ton of hard work. To keep up a schedule like the one Palmer has an individual needs to remain focused and committed. There’s not much time for a social life especially now that her issue of Playboy has come out. The demands on her time have become even greater, but Palmer is enjoying every minute of it. From traveling all over the world meeting new and interesting people, Palmer is living the dream and she couldn’t be happier.

“Everything has been amazing and the best thing is I truly am an MMA fan,” said Palmer in an exclusive interview with Five Ounces of Pain. “Being part of an organization as big as the UFC and part of the #1 growing sport in the world is something I am so thankful for. I am so grateful to be one of only three girls alongside Arianny and Chandella (Powell). It’s been a great journey and I’m just enjoying the ride. Working for the WEC was great and I am still working with the same people just on a larger scale. There are a lot more events, but being such a big fan that only adds to the experience.”
Getting to sit cageside and witness some of the most historic moments in the sports history is something that Palmer can share with her grandchildren when the time comes. She also gets to know and develop relationships with many of the world’s best athletes while watching them make history. She entered the sport at the right time and it’s only going to get bigger and better over the next few years.


“Getting to watch fighters like Jon Jones who is an amazing athlete, Anthony Pettis, Donald Cerrone, Urijah Faber, Dominck Cruz, and Clay Guida makes this job that much more enjoyable,” explained Palmer. “There are so many great fighters, there are too many to name, but they all have their own styles and that’s what makes it interesting to watch.”

Palmer is not the typical art prodigy whose talent was recognized when she very young. In fact it wasn’t all that long that she discovered drawing wasn’t just something she enjoyed it was an opportunity to showcase a talent and share it will millions of fans.

Posing in Playboy provides the type of platform that can really push someone into super stardom. Many women have gone on to have great careers in film and on television after posing in the periodical. However, while there are many positives that can come from being in the pages of one of the world’s most famous magazines there could also be some drawbacks as well. Family members can be embarrassed while strangers can be downright cruel and obnoxious. Palmer knew what posing in Playboy entailed and she seems to have no regrets what so ever, realizing the positives far outweighed the negatives.

“It’s been so great and surreal,” said an excited Palmer. “I’m so happy and lucky to be in the situation I am in. This is the happiest I have ever been, my career is on such a hot streak right now. I am counting my blessings because I am so grateful for everything I have right now. Being an art student I am used to being around nude figures so I wasn’t hesitant when I was approached by Playboy. I wouldn’t say this was a dream I had as a little girl, but this is a golden opportunity. My friends and family have been so supportive, they know every decision I have made has helped my career and led me to a better place.”


This coming May in Birmingham, England at the NEC Arena The MMA Show Live will join The Martial Arts Show for the first time. There will be over sixty fighters in attendance including Rashad Evans, Kenny Florian, Jake Shields, Brendan Schaub, Rory MacDonald, Stefan Struve, and none other than Ms. Palmer too. “I am going to be signing autographs for fans,” Palmer said. “I will be giving away some of my Playboy calendars. I am really looking forward to going over there. Vergara was born in Barranquilla, Colombia. Her mother, Margarita Vergara Dávila de Vergara, is a housewife, and her father, Julio Enrique Vergara Robayo, produced cattle for the meat industry. She grew up in Barranquilla, and was raised as a devout Catholic in a well-off family, attending a private bilingual Spanish/English school, known as Marymount School Barranquilla.

Vergara was married at the age of 18 to her childhood sweetheart, Joe Gonzalez. She gave birth to their son Manolo in September 1992. They split in 1993.

On May 9, 2011, Vergara's younger brother, Julio, was deported from the United States to Colombia after being arrested in April; Julio also had a longtime drug addiction and previous brushes with the law. "To see somebody dying over 10 years, little by little, that's the worst punishment," Vergara told Parade magazine. "Now he's like another person."

Vergara was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2000. She had her thyroid removed, underwent iodine radiation therapy and made a full recovery. She takes medication daily to control the symptoms of hypothyroidism.
